The Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) is a private, non-profit institution that engages in the production and transmission of knowledge, based on respect for human values and ethics.

In the evaluation for the quadrennium 2013-2016, 70 stricto sensu postgraduate programs were evaluated, 41 programs with masters and doctorates and 29 courses of academic masters.
In addition to the Postgraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at PUC-Rio, only 2 others were classified with grade 7. Among the other programs, 10 received grade 6; other 10 programs were marked 5; 23 received note 4; 23 note 3; and only one program received grade 2.
As in previous evaluations, the Postgraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at PUC-Rio remained very well evaluated.
